No list is complete without Kew Gardens. One of Britain's most popular attractions, the UNESCO-listed Kew Gardens is spread over 330 glorious acres of southwest London and claim to have the world’s largest botanical and mycological collections (more than 30,000 plant species at last count).

South-West London, only 30 mins from Central London.

By tube - Kew Gardens station is 500m from Victoria Gate. It is in Zone 3 and is served by the District Line (Richmond branch) and London Overground.

By train - Kew Bridge station is 800m from Elizabeth Gate via Kew Bridge. South West Trains run services from Waterloo via Vauxhall and Clapham Junction.

Located in Lee Valley Regional Park, Myddelton House Gardens is a treasure trove of hidden gems. Once home to Edward Augustus Bowles, one of Britain’s most famous self-taught gardeners, artists and expert botanists.

By rail: 15 minute walk from Turkey Street on the Liverpool Street line. Turn right out of the station, continuing under the subway and up to the end of Turkey Street.

By bus: The nearest bus stop is on the A10 at Turkey street. Alight the bus at this stop and we're a 10 minute walk up Turkey Street. Bus No's 217, 317, 617, 629 and 327.

By car: from M25 J25 take the Southbound A10 signposted London.

Entry to Gardens: Free

Private Guided Walks (1 Hour - during opening hours): £5.00 per person - minimum charge of £75.00 per tour

Capel Manor College is London's only specialist land-based college, a leading education provider for those interested in nature, animals and the environment.

By rail: Turkey Street on the Liverpool Street line, which is 20 minutes walk from Capel Manor Gardens. Walk to the junction of Turkey Street and the A10 (Cambridge Road) You will need to use the under pass to cross the A10 and head north along the A10 towards the Bullsmoor Lane/ junction.

By car: 400 yards from Junction 25 of the M25, to the north of London, just off the A10 southbound. Look out for brown tourism signs.
